I thought I’d share a couple of useful apps that work on both the iPhone and iPod touch that will be of interest to philosophy students and professors.

The first is the newly released ‘Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy’ app. This app gives you complete access to the SEP anywhere you are connected to the internet. You can browse or search for entries, re-visit entries from your history, bookmark favorites, and more. This app is free and will never contain advertising.

The second app is the ‘Complete Oxford Dictionary of Philosophy.’ This app costs $14.99 but will give you the complete contents of the printed edition. The entries feature cross-links to related entries, links to useful websites and videos, and more. You can bookmark favorites too. Once you have downloaded this app, you will always have access to the complete contents even when you are not connected to the internet.

I hope some of you find these useful. Please let me know if you have found some other useful apps for philosophers!

-Chris
